Houston Real estate
HOUSTON (globest.com) – Three downtown city blocks on Main, Caroline and Polk streets are proposed sites for a $200 million, 360,000-square-foot development. Partners William Denton and Geoffrey Jones envision the proposed Houston Pavilions to have upscale retail, entertainment, condominiums and office space. Because downtown land is pricey and development costs are high, a tax increment reinvestment zone (TIRZ) was needed to help make the project a reality. The commissioner’s court, the TIRZ’s board of directors and the city council have all approved the TIRZ creation. The next step will be for the city and developers to enter into a formal agreement.
The Houston Pavilions are projected to be similar to Entertainment Development’s 350,000-square-foot Denver Pavilions, which opened in 1998.

Car Information: Cars.info
One of the interesting trends that I've been noticing has been the increase in .info domain names. Afilias, which maintains the .info top-level domain, processed 1 million .info domains in a 36-hour period, a thousand times the average daily load on its system, according to Carle. About 1.5 million .info domains were registered in the first three years of the TLD's availability. Check on the cars and car related information at www.cars.info

Relaunch: Mutualfunds http://www.mutualfunds.com/index.aspx
Great history with this website. During the dot.com boom, these guys spent millions of dollars developing a mutual fund magazine and mutualfund website. The domain was sold out of near bankruptcy and the site is now relaunched. http://www.mutualfunds.com/index.aspx Great mutual fund content and much better than it was in my opinion. Interesting story of developments on the internet.

Office Supply Statistics - www.officesupply.com
The office supply industry is estimated to be worthUS $225 billion in 1999 and is still growing. As of 2003, the largest office supply chains in the United States (based upon revenue) are Staples (US$13.1 billion in revenue) and Office Depot ($12.3 billion), but www.OfficeSupply.com provides better pricing on office supplies than both of them. Interesting find.
